We&#8217;ve gotten a good number of pre-announcement applicants already, but today marks the official call for speakers. (Joy!)<\/p>\n<p>Take a look at the stream descriptions below. If you&#8217;re interested in speaking about any of the points we&#8217;ve mentioned (e.g. introduction to WordPress, customizing themes, or securing WordPress) &#8212; or if you have a presentation idea in mind that we haven&#8217;t hit on &#8212; please <a title=\"Become a Speaker\" href=\"https:\/\/2012.toronto.wordcamp.org\/speakers\/signup\/\">give us a shout<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>WordPress 101 (Working with WordPress Out-of-the-Box)<\/h3>\n<blockquote><p>New to WordPress?\u00a0Launching\u00a0your first website? Jumping into the uncharted waters of blogging? The WordPress 101 stream is a crash course that will take you through the basics of WordPress.\u00a0Participants\u00a0in this stream will learn: how to navigate the WordPress dashboard; strategies for writing content; best practices for building\u00a0a web presence; etc.<\/p>\n<p>This stream is intended to serve both WordPress.com and WordPress.org users.\u00a0The focus is less on customization and more on how users can make the most of WordPress with minimal tweaks to the software.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3>WordPress 102 (WordPress.org, Plugins &amp; Themes)<\/h3>\n<blockquote><p>Participants will learn how to find a good web host,\u00a0install\u00a0&amp; secure WordPress, install WordPress plugins, themes &amp; frameworks, and how to customize themes &amp; plugins.<\/p>\n<p>This stream is intended to serve those who want to create a custom website experience, without learning how to write code!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3>WordPress 103 (Improving Performance &amp; Using Analytics\/Metrics)<\/h3>\n<blockquote><p><strong><\/strong>Take your WordPress site to the next level with the WordPress 103 stream. Participants will learn about advanced web metrics, webmaster tools, page optimization (speed &amp; SEO),\u00a0premium\u00a0plugins, WordPress multisite networks, and more.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>These streams will take place on Saturday, September 29th.
