Orientation

Welcome to WordCamp Toronto at Humber College!

Join us for a Weekend of WordPress at Humber on the shores of beautiful Lake Ontario! #WCTO2013 is packed with over 30 sessions, workshops, panels, site clinics, networking, 1:1 support, great food, and even after-party celebrations on Saturday night. This year, it’s not just about Toronto – we’re embracing the entire GTA!

Location

WordCamp Toronto 2013 is taking place in Building L at Humber College Lakeshore’s East campus. The exact location is 19 Colonel Samuel Smith Park Drive. The closest major intersection is at Kipling Ave. and Lake Shore Blvd. West.

View our Location page for more details on directions.

Parking

There are three lots available: Lot A on the West campus, a Green P lot just north of Building L, and a Green P public parking lot just south of the East campus on Col. Samuel Smith Park Drive. Parking is free at these locations for the entire weekend.

Our Location page has more details on parking.

Lot A (West Campus)

Humber College Lakeshore Campus

The entrance to Lot A is just off Twenty Second Street south of Lake Shore Blvd. West. Twenty Second Street is the street immediately west of Kipling Ave. Turn south at the lights and head down a short way. There shouldn’t be an attendant, so drive right through and park in the north-east section of the lot.

Take the eastbound path to Col. Samuel Smith Park Drive. Building L is just south of the path on the opposite side of the street.

Green P Lots (Col. Samuel Smith Park Drive)

The first lot is just north of Building L. The second lot is south of the campus. Drive past Building L and past the high school. The lot is on your left, opposite a large field. Parking is free for the entire weekend at both locations.

Note: DO NOT park in the smaller lots surrounding the East campus. These small lots require permits.

Saturday Schedule

View our Schedule page for full details.

Note: You do not need to register for individual sessions. Come and go as you please! If you want to switch rooms in the middle of a presentation, go right ahead – just try your best to not distract other attendees, or step in front of the cameras recording our presenters.

Registration @ 8:00am

Humber Lobby

Registration opens up at 8:00am on Saturday. The registration area is in the main lobby near the elevators (pictured above). You’ll receive your name badge, limited edition WordCamp Toronto 2013 baseball cap (pairs excellently with a WordCamp Toronto 2012 or WordCamp Ottawa 2013 t-shirt!), and swag bag. Make your way to the breakfast area for a bite and beverage after getting your badge.

There is no keynote or opening remarks this year. Just make your way to your first session, where we’ll have a little introduction video to show you before the first presentations of the day. 🙂

Registration will remain open throughout the entire weekend, so don’t worry if you’re running late.

Tailor Made CafeLunch @ 11:45am w/ Tailor Made Cafe

Tailor Made Cafe is back! Their amazing spread includes vegan and gluten-free dishes. If you’re in the Davisville area and want to grab a bite during the week, be sure to check out their Facebook page for an up-to-date listing of daily specials.

WordPress Commons & Happiness Bar

The WordPress Commons is a space for you to relax and chat with other WordPress users. This includes our Happiness Bar where you can get one-on-one support from volunteer WordPress pros. Lastly, we’ve got breakout rooms where speakers are free to hold follow-up discussions with attendees after their presentations.

The Commons and Happiness Bar will be open the entire weekend.

Saturday After-Party (6:00pm – 9:00pm)

This year’s After Party is taking place at Kalamata Restaurant, a short 10 minute walk west of Humber College. Limited parking is available on the street or in the private lot behind the restaurant. You can also take the Lake Shore West streetcar – there’s a stop right outside Kalamata. 🙂 The party will include complementary drinks, food, and even music.

We have a maximum capacity of 200 people, and we will be keeping track of people at the door. You’ll need to have your name badge with you to get in, so don’t throw it away!
