He&#8217;s presented at two WordCamps previously, in Toronto last year and in Ottawa last May, both on the subject of working with developers as a client.<\/p>\n<p>Lucas is a full-time high school student, a job which is sometimes more demanding than the freelance gig he pulls during evenings and weekends. He\u00a0believes that humans are people, too, and that we move so quickly we forget that nowadays. We\u2019ll talk about how design doesn\u2019t have to be some scary \u201ccreative\u201d thing, about how it\u2019s a skill like any other. We\u2019ll even practice it a bit.<\/p>\n<h2>What do you want people to learn from your presentation?<\/h2>\n<p>I want people to learn that design isn\u2019t frightening, that it\u2019s just problem solving with a different set of tools.<\/p>\n<h2>Why did you decide to speak?<\/h2>\n<p>Topically, I think it\u2019s important to dispel myths surrounding creativity and its supposedly mystic nature. I also want to encourage people to try design who might not otherwise.<\/p>\n<h2>What attracted you to WordPress in the first place?<\/h2>\n<p>Its ease of use and its strong sense of community.<\/p>\n<h2>What&#8217;s your favourite plugin or theme, and why?<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/underscores.me\" target=\"_blank\">Underscores<\/a> can\u2019t really be beat as a learn-by-example project.
