I work exclusively in WordPress and have been for some time, whether as a developer, college educator or building a telco grade platform based on WordPress.<\/p>\n<h2>Speaking Sessions<\/h2>\n<p><a title=\"Session info\" href=\"https:\/\/2014.toronto.wordcamp.org\/session\/wordpress-101\/\">WordPress 101<\/a> in the <a title=\"User \/ Admin track listings\" href=\"\/track\/useradmin\">User \/ Admin<\/a> track<\/p>\n<h2>About your session<\/h2>\n<p>In this presentation, I&#8217;ll demystify WordPress for the new user . Should you use WordPress.com or .org? Whats a theme? Whats a plugin. I&#8217;ll also address some of the common misconceptions that have arisen out of my classroom teaching. And tell a few bad cat jokes as well.<\/p>\n<h2>What do you want people to learn from your presentation?<\/h2>\n<p>I expect people to walk away with a bit more of a comfort level in regards to Using WordPress and at the very least be able to ask the right questions to help their projects move forward<\/p>\n<h2>Why did you decide to speak?<\/h2>\n<p>Toronto is home and it wouldn&#8217;t have felt right not speaking at this WordCamp, despite taking the year off from speaking.<\/p>\n<h2>What attracted you to WordPress in the first place?<\/h2>\n<p>As a Product Manager for web hosting companies, I had never really gotten behind a product until WordPress.
