What is ManageWP?
“ManageWP is a service that helps you automate website management, so you could focus on things that matter. It helps you access your websites with one click, run scheduled backups, clone your websites, monitor uptime, and much more. With over a quarter of a million websites managed and 1.6 million downloads, ManageWP is the first and most successful service for management of multiple WordPress websites.
The team behind ManageWP consists of over a dozen developers, contributors, WordCamp organizers, speakers and volunteers. They’ve built over 30 plugins, several of them with over 1 million downloads. Overall a fun bunch of people.”
Why WordPress?
“Our team occasionally holds talks and workshops for youth, whenever we can spare some time. You should see the spark in a kid’s eye when you tell him he could build his own Minecraft blog with WordPress, without any coding skills. That kind of hope moves mountains.”
Do you have an interesting WordPress story?
“Fun fact: We literally wrote the first book on WordPress development, called WordPress Plugin Development (Beginner’s Guide), by Vladimir Prelovac.”
Any advice for WordCamp attendees?
“The next time you take a seat before a talk, say hi to the people next to you; there’s a good chance they’ll be your employer, business partner, or consultant.
Most people assume that WordCamps are about talks. It’s actually about turning a bunch of WordPress people into a community. It’s about networking; about collaboration and helping each other out.”
