I’m committed to open source values, and love working with WordPress. I fell in love with WordPress in 2008, and have been working with it in some capacity since then. I am a husband, a father, a WordCamp addict, a coffee snob, lover of things shiny, and a California native in Illinois.”

Presentation: “Gaining (and not betraying) User Trust in e-Commerce”

“I work with helping people get their payment gateways set up in WooCommerce, so my presentation comes from that angle.

It really pleases me to see shop/website owners really nail customer trust, and it’s something that a little bit of effort can really make a marked improvement. Most of the things that I recommend would take less than a couple hours and less than a few hundred dollars to implement, while increasing your customer/user trust innumerably. ”

What unique perspective are you bringing to this talk?

“Everyone has users. Everyone is looking to get their users to trust them in some fashion; bloggers looking for repeat traffic, shop owners looking for sales, marketers looking for newsletter signups, etc.

I have some pretty cool insights from working with hundreds of different e-commerce stores, and then also being involved with the implementation of plugins and extensions for WooCommerce, as well as testing new extensions, etc.”

What’s one really cool thing people will discover during your session?

“Sometimes what users and customers are looking at to determine whether they trust your site is not what we think they are. Know the difference.

(also that this session is probably applicable to much more than e-commerce, although that is the focus)”

What are you most looking forward to at WordCamp Toronto?

“Probably the chance to meet new people, and attend my first Canadian WordCamp!”

“Hey!
