When not coding or writing you\u2019ll find me playing board games, playing some guitar or running with my dog.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Presentation:\u00a0Learning About REST APIs through the WordPress HTTP API<\/h3>\n<p>&#8220;I always found API&#8217;s confusing because I didn&#8217;t understand all the calls and responses, how to make them, cURL, etc&#8230; Yuck! One day I spent 20 minutes learning about how HTTP works and it all became clear in an instant and I realized how powerful it can be!&#8221;<!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>What unique perspective are you bringing to this talk?<\/h3>\n<p>&#8220;Instead of focusing on specific APIs (although I will look at an example) I want to show how HTTP works because it is SO simple, yet is the basis of not just all web API&#8217;s, but most of the web itself.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3>What&#8217;s one really cool thing people will discover during your session?<\/h3>\n<p>&#8220;How easy it is to integrate REST APIs (like Twitter) with your WordPress themes and plugins.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3>Do you have a good WordPress related story, anecdote or memory?<\/h3>\n<p>&#8220;I went up to Drew Jaynes (@DrewAPicture) and insisted that he was Mika Epstein (@Ipstenu) &#8211; who is a woman. I was playing around with wireframes the day before and mixed up their pictures.
