WordCamps are a casual, community-organized events that focus on WordPress, the software behind 28% of the internet. Everyone from the users, to designers, to developers are invited to attend, participate, and contribute their expertise to the WordPress open source project. The first WordCamp was in San Francisco and was organized by Matt Mullenweg, the co-founder of the open-source blogging platform, WordPress.
WordCamp Toronto has been running since 2008. Other Canadian WordCamps have been held in Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, Hamilton, Niagara Region, Ottawa, Montreal and Halifax. WordCamp Toronto 2018 will be held at the North York Civic Centre, with an estimated attendance of over 350 including speakers, volunteers and sponsors.
