Everyone from the users, to designers, to developers are invited to attend, participate, and contribute their expertise to the WordPress open source project. The first WordCamp was in San Francisco and was organized by Matt Mullenweg, the co-founder of the open-source blogging platform, WordPress.<\/p>\n<p>WordCamp Toronto has been running since 2008. Other Canadian WordCamps have been held in Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, Hamilton, Niagara Region, Ottawa, Montreal and Halifax. WordCamp Toronto 2018 will be held at the North York Civic Centre, with an estimated attendance of over 350 including speakers, volunteers and sponsors.<\/p>\n<h1>FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS<\/h1>\n<h2>Q: WHAT IS WORDCAMP?<\/h2>\n<p>A: WordCamp is a conference that focuses on everything WordPress. WordCamps are informal, community-organized events that are put together by WordPress users like you. Everyone from casual users to core developers participate, share ideas, and get to know each other.<\/p>\n<h2>Q: WHEN WAS THE FIRST WORDCAMP?<\/h2>\n<p>A: The first WordCamp was in 2006 in San Francisco.
