In building eLearning and automation solutions that are used on over 10,000 WordPress sites, Ryan has unique insights into the challenges faced when building complex WordPress sites. Follow\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/UncannyOwl\">@UncannyOwl<\/a> on Twitter.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why did you choose your topic?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I wanted to talk about ways to improve user experience with automation because it\u2019s something our team supports for clients on a daily basis. Our company, Uncanny Owl, also released an automation plugin a few months ago.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>What do you want people to learn from your session?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Attendees will learn about the value automation can add both to the admin and user experience, and just how easy it can be to incorporate simple automation workflows on a WordPress site.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why did you decide to speak?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m speaking primarily to promote knowledge sharing and to raise awareness of what\u2019s possible with automation. It\u2019s also a way for us to connect with the local WordPress community, which we don\u2019t do often enough.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What brought you to WordPress in the first place?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>My partner and I started with WordPress in 2013 as a way to showcase our eLearning work. Within a few years we stopped instructional design work and built out a team to focus exclusively on making eLearning better and easier with WordPress.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What are you most looking forward to at WordCamp Toronto?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m looking forward to connecting with the local WordPress community and sharing some of what we\u2019ve learned as a plugin vendor and developer of WordPress sites.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Any advice for other WordCamp Toronto attendees?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Take notes, ask questions, and be open to new ideas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ryan&#8217;s session is\u00a0Building and automating WordPress workflows.
