Why WordPress?

Ease of use and updating probably number one reason for both me and my clients. More of my clients are wanting to become part of their daily website presence and WP allows them to do that, and it takes a huge load off of my shoulders with updates.

What are you most looking forward to at WordCamp Toronto?

Getting more information on how to better utilize WP and to meet new people of course. I met a great group of speakers when I spoke in Columbus, Ohio.

Why did you decide to speak at WordCamp Toronto?

Love Toronto, love to speak in public, love WP. I saw that speakers were needed, and thought that my presentation might come in handy for those using out of the box themes.

What is your talk going to be about?

My presentation is all geared around customizing out-of-the-box themes using Photoshop. There’s no need to use a theme as is. If you know a little about Photoshop and a little about WP, you can customize your theme.

What is the one thing you want people to walk away with from your talk?

People don’t have to settle for a theme that is “almost” what they want. They can make it want they want (graphics-wise) with a little customization.

Bonus Question: What is your favourite plugin or theme, and why?

I love the Thesis theme because of the infinite possibilities that can be achieved with it. Can’t say that I have a favorite plugin right now.
