Since 1998, Allan has been working as a SEO/SEM with web development experience. He is an accomplished writer having several ebooks to his credit. Allan has over the years helped over 800 clients achieve top rankings on all of the major search engines. He is considered an online marketing guru having done interviews on newspapers, radio, and TV. Allan is a graduate from Dalhousie University and holds a BSc. in Physics.

“There are many plugins that can help your site to be optimized for the search engines. However, knowing the basics and some of the insider tricks can help to beyond what the normal plugins can do.”

What unique perspective are you bringing to this talk?

“Since 1998, I’ve been working as a SEO and have seen it all. My presentations my goal is to provide as much knowledge to my audience as possible. I don’t hold back secrets, instead I hope to teach all the power of SEO.”

What’s one really cool thing people will discover during your session?

“They should learn how to dominate the search engines.”

Do you have a good WordPress related story, anecdote or memory?

“I work really long hours optimizing clients’ websites. Often I have tight deadlines and very little time to do my job. I do whatever I can to make my job easier. Often clients will have sites developed in a custom CMS or some painful to optimize CMS like joomla. So in order to make my job easier I always to tell them to convert their sites to WordPress. Usually it is a win-win because much easier to optimize and WordPress is easier for the client too.”

What are you most looking forward to at WordCamp Toronto?

“I really look forward to meeting other developers. I’m a big fan of WordPress and would love to gain an even greater understanding of it.”
