Presentation: “Using FacetsWP”

“I attended a talk by Becky Davis in Milwaukee that opened my eyes in that there was more than one way to organize your information. I was converted! I needed to learn more about this and how it is possible to have more than one path to the same content.”

What unique perspective are you bringing to this talk?

“I love content architecture and wayfinding. I’ve been talking about it the same way for years. While still valid, this may speak to those that have those large number of posts and need to filter down, using multiple paths. I can do either one! This is the biggest piece that I teach at Sheridan College’s CCIT program with University of Toronto at Mississauga.”

What’s one really cool thing people will discover during your session?

“This will build on the concept of wayfinding and previous content architecture talk. What if your post fits into more than one bucket at the same time? What if the timelines cross? That’s a big no-no in the time vortex, but in data architecture, it is possible.”

What are you most looking forward to at WordCamp Toronto?

“I love finishing my WordCamp Tour in my other home town. I grew up in Toronto and though I live down the road in Hamilton, this is still my home. I’m looking forward to seeing all the people I’ve met over the last few years from all over North America present as well as seeing the local new and previous attendees, maybe a few new speakers.”
