Presentation: Best Friend or Worst Enemy: Multisite Network Do’s & Don’ts
“Multisite has become a hot topic in the WordPress community. Everyone wants a multisite to solve all of their problems, but many times they don’t fully understand what multisite is, and that it may just add to their problems.”
What unique perspective are you bringing to this talk?
“I work at a WordPress hosting company (WP Engine), and I’ve worked with WordPress Multisites for over 5 years with some big name Global brands. I’ve seen it all, the good, bad and ugly with multisite.
My talk is less about “developing” a multisite and more about understanding the problem you are trying to solve with multisite and if multisite is really the best solution. Expect pro-tips, eureka moments, and hard lessons learned from his experience setting up and running multisite networks for small private company intranets, all the way to global enterprise brands.”
What’s one really cool thing people will discover during your session?
“By the end of this talk you will know the pros and cons of WordPress Multisite Networks, best practices for setting up and running a multisite, and know about alternatives if multisite isn’t a fit for your next project.”
What are you most looking forward to at WordCamp Toronto?
“I’ve never been to Canada, I’m excited that my first trip will be to Toronto among the WordPress community that I have come to love.”
