Presentation: HTTP/2 and You

“With all of the exciting new technologies in our industry, we tend to forget about the core protocols and APIs that gave rise to the web. As we get farther and farther away from these core concepts, we begin to forget to optimize for these basic protocols. I’m excited to give this talk because HTTP/2 is revitalizing interest in HTTP and I feel strongly that every developer should have a cursory awareness of these concepts.”

What unique perspective are you bringing to this talk?

“My HTTP/2 takes complex subject matter and makes it easy to understand. It’s important that every developer has this knowledge. If you attend my talk, I have 50 minutes to get you excited about this topic and introduce you to some of the most important concepts in web development. I promise not to disappoint!”

What’s one really cool thing people will discover during your session?

“Web developers tend to focus on HTML, CSS, JS and the latest fads in our industry, but rarely do we take the time to learn about HTTP, a decades old protocol that is responsible for the modern web. My talk will illustrate how important it is to understand HTTP so you can make your web applications blazing fast.”

What are you most looking forward to at WordCamp Toronto?

“WordCamps are about the people. I’ve never been to WordCamp Toronto or attended any WordPress related events anywhere near Toronto. I’m excited to meet a lot of new people and have great conversations about the web!”
